Slow Cooker Pot Roast Recipe
This recipe will make people think you slaved over a hot stove for hours, when it's really the slow cooker that did all of the work.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 7 hours
Yield: 6 to 8 servings
Ingredients:
- 4 pound chuck roast
- 1 packet dry onion soup mix
- 1 cup water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp. basil
- 3 chopped and peeled carrots
- 3 chopped and peeled potatoes
- 3 stalks of celery, cut into pieces
Instructions:
Set the slow cooker on low and add the roast, onion soup mix, water, salt, pepper, and basil. Let simmer for 5 hours. Add the carrots, celery and potatoes and let simmer for an additional 2 hours.
